Let me ask you the most important question you will ever answer: what really saves you? Not what you were told saves you: what the Word of God actually says saves you. And Scripture does not stammer on this. It says it so plainly a child can hear it:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16, KJV)
Scripture speaks plainly: believe, and be saved
“Whosoever believeth.” And it is not one lonely verse: it is the drumbeat of the whole New Testament. “He that heareth my word, and believeth… hath everlasting life” (John 5:24). “He that believeth on me hath everlasting life” (John 6:47). The Philippian jailer asked the exact question, and got the exact answer: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31). Paul settles the accounts: “a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law” (Romans 3:28); “by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works” (Ephesians 2:8–9). Nothing is added. Nothing supplements it.
The blood cleanses; faith applies it
And what does faith lay hold of? The blood: never the water. “Ye were… redeemed… with the precious blood of Christ” (1 Peter 1:18–19); “shall the blood of Christ… purge your conscience” (Hebrews 9:14); “washed us from our sins in his own blood” (Revelation 1:5). The baptism that saves eternally is the Spirit’s work: “by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body” (1 Corinthians 12:13).
And the Lord Jesus proved it with His own hands
Do not take only my word: take His examples. The palsied man: “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee” (Mark 2:5): no water. The sinful woman: “Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace” (Luke 7:50): no water. The thief on the cross, who could never be baptized: “To day shalt thou be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:43). Faith saved every one of them. So what really saves you, child of God? Not your baptism, precious and commanded as it is: the finished work of Jesus Christ, received by faith. Water baptism follows; it never precedes, and it never saves. Rest your soul on Christ alone. Glory to God.

The Gospel, Stated Plainly
Everything I teach on this site rests on one message from Scripture. Read it in God’s own words from 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 1:16, and Ephesians 2:8-9.
“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (KJV)
