The Word of God: A Study of Hebrews 4:12

Hebrews 4:12 is everywhere: bookmarks, banners, sermon slides. But it is not a motto about Bible study. It is a warning nested inside a larger warning, aimed squarely at the reader. A study through seven lenses.
What Really Saves You

Faith in Jesus Christ saves you. A short study of what Scripture actually says about believing, the blood of Christ, and where water baptism fits.
It Is the Spirit Who Gives Life

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” • John 6:63 (KJV)
Jesus is teaching a truth we can never manufacture on our own: spiritual life is entirely the work of God. We cannot produce eternal life through effort, ritual, good works, or human wisdom. Apart from Christ we are spiritually dead, and only God can make us alive (Ephesians 2:1–5).
The Holy Spirit gives life. The living Word reveals Christ (Romans 10:17). And salvation is “Not of works,” but is received by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9).
The message is simple: God does the saving work. The Father draws us, the Word reveals Christ, the Spirit gives life, and the sinner receives eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
We cannot produce spiritual life. The Spirit must give it. The Word reveals it. Christ possesses it. Faith receives Him. And God receives all the glory.

Made New in Christ: The Second Chance of Romans 6:4 and 2 Corinthians 5:17

Millions wish they could start over. Romans 6:4 and 2 Corinthians 5:17 promise a real second chance: in Christ you become a new creature, made new from the inside out. A full seven-lens study.
Contending For The Faith

Silence is not always love. Jude calls believers to earnestly contend for the faith once delivered to the saints, and to defend it with the character of Christ.
Sin, Forgiveness, Cleansing, and Redemption

Isaiah 44:22 and 1 John 1:9 speak plainly about sin, forgiveness, cleansing, and redemption, and neither says one word about water. God wipes away the record of guilt Himself.
Hellish Deception Has Been Released Into the World

The whole world lieth in wickedness, says 1 John 5:19, not mild confusion, but deception on a worldwide scale. A study of the one Jesus called the father of lies.
The Origin and Earthly Unleashing of Spiritual Warfare

Revelation 12, Genesis 3, and Ephesians 6 give one picture of spiritual warfare: war in heaven, its entry into human history, and the same conflict facing believers now.
The Blood of Jesus Christ Was Shed for the Forgiveness of Sins

At the Last Supper Jesus said His blood, not baptismal water, would be poured out for the forgiveness of sins. Scripture assigns cleansing and redemption to His blood alone.
My Words Reveal My Heart and Will Be Judged by God

Scripture never teaches that spoken words carry creative power to command wealth or healing. Words matter because they reveal the heart, and by them we are justified or condemned.
